TIDAL BASIN
The beautiful Tidal Basin actually serves a practical purpose, flushing the adjacent Washington Channel. Two Tour Stops (Jefferson Memorial and Martin Luther King, Jr) are on the Tidal Basin.
The Tidal Basin is also home to magnificent Yoshino Cherry Trees. The trees were a gift from Japan in 1912 and since then every year in late March or early April the banks shimmer with pale pink blossoms,
