Gunpowder Falls State Park comprises 18,000 acres divided into six areas encompassing a wide range of terrain, including tidal wetlands, open land, and rugged slopes. The park features over 120 miles of multi-use trails, commonly used for hiking and horseback riding. Many other attractions can be found in the park, including swimming beaches, an archery range, a former amusement park site, and a full-service marina. Some campsites are available during the summer and are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

With more than 10 miles of sand, Ocean City Beach is an excellent destination for swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing.
